The Miles Government’s first budget is all about lowering household bills and easing pressure on your household budget.
We’re committed to doing our bit to make it easier, which includes:
*$1300 off your power bill
*Expanding the FairPlay program to $200 for each child in sport and
rec
*20% off rego for all Queenslanders
*Freeze on costs
*50 cent public transport – any route, any zone, and day
This is all part of the biggest cost of living relief package in Queensland history and we’re paying for it by making multinational mining companies pay their fair share.
Helping local families make ends meet is at the heart of this year’s budget, but it also puts more nurses, teachers, police, ambos, buses, and more affordable homes into our neighbourhood.
Here are just some of the highlights of the decisions we’ve backed, in a range of other areas:
* Major clean energy transition package to deliver clean and more
affordable power and take action on climate change
* Logan Hospital expansion
* State of the art Ambulance Station
* Expansion of the M1 and extension of the Busway to continue
* $1.28 billion Community Safety Plan including more police, investment
in youth diversion and domestic violence services, and tough laws
including detention
* $502 million to Put Queensland Kids First by increasing child health
checks, behavioural specialists and free kindy
* Funds for investment in sporting venues and Olympic and Paralympic
Games legacy projects in Logan
This builds on our record of lowering household bills with Free TAFE, Free Kindy and our Homes for Queenslanders plan.
