A man who allegedly threatened two people with a knife before stealing their car along Compton Road, Woodridge, has been arrested.
Polair had been following the man who was allegedly riding a stolen motorbike for three hours through Logan, Eight Mile Plains, Sunnybank and Acacia Ridge.
Police say the man rode the motorbike for about three hours before stopping on Compton Road.
It was then, at about 10.30pm, that he approached the two people and demanded their car, police allege.
Police started surveillance around 6.50pm on Saturday night (January 20), initially heading north along the Gateway Motorway, across the river to Nudgee Road before returning to the Gateway Motorway and heading south.
Polair continued monitoring the man after he allegedly stole the car and drove to the Pacific Motorway before travelling north on the Gateway Motorway and on to the Bruce Highway.
At 11.18pm, police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device near the Old Gympie Road exit at Narangba with all four tyres deflated.
The vehicle stopped on Old Gympie Road a short time later and the man was arrested.
The 30-year-old Eagleby man was charged with armed unlawful entry of a vehicle, three counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous driving, stealing and driving while disqualified.
He was also charged with assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence offence) regarding an unrelated matter.
He is expected to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow, January 22.
The motorcycle was reported stolen from a Kingston property on December 23.
