Centre facelift – bigger, better, bolder

The third and final stage of the massive Jimboomba Centre upgrade is well underway.

The development will deliver over 3500sqm of food, retail, medical and office spaces next to Woolworths, which has already undergone $3 million in upgrades.

“The scheme is organised around a new ‘street’ which concentrates the precinct’s frontage and activity while maintaining an intimately scaled pedestrian setting,” according to project designer Cavill Architects.

“A series of cross-block pedestrian links facilitate connections to adjoining sites of significance to the community,” Cavill website reads.

Previous developments at the centre total $14 million.

The project is a joint venture between Zagame Group, which has owned the retail precinct for over a decade, and Brisbane-based property group Pellicano.

Local councillor Scott Bannan said the upgrades would be great for the centre.

“The shops were old and tired, but now it’s going to be a modern shopping centre with plenty of services going in,” Cr Bannan said.

Developers did not respond to requests for comment.
