Construction has begun on a new primary school at Park Ridge.
The $80.3 million school will aim to provide enrolment relief to the surrounding schools, including Crestmead State School, Marsden State School and Logan Reserve State School.
It will take students from Prep to Year 6, and is set to open for term 1 in January 2025.
Stage one includes the new primary school, a long daycare centre and kindergarten, as well as the second FamilyLinQ hub in Queensland.
The first hub is at Kingston State School.
FamilyLinQ hub’s integrate a variety of education, life and health topics, including: early childhood support services, onsite health services, family support programs, adult education and training, and community activities and programs.
The new school will also feature a multipurpose hall with a stage, an outdoor multipurpose court, a playground, parking, a canteen and dedicated music, kitchen and art-science-robotics learning areas.
“Investing in our growing areas of Logan is vital and that is why I will continue to fight for local Logan families,” local state Member for Logan, Linus Power said.
“This school will help take the pressure of the other local schools leading to better educational outcomes for our kids.”
