Footage released of alleged attempted murder suspects

Three people have been charged with attempted murder following an alleged June shooting in Waterford that left two men with gunshot wounds to the face and arm.

Emergency services were called to Hein Road on 16 June around 2.20am after reports a man had sustained a gunshot wound to the face, and another who had been shot in the arm.

Investigations led detectives to allege the shooting occurred near Schneider Road in Waterford a short time earlier.

Police will allege a 24-year-old man, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained head injuries and was transported to hospital in a serious condition.

Police will further allege a 28-year-old male, the driver of the vehicle, was shot in the arm and transported to hospital in a stable condition.

The investigations also led police to execute a search warrant at an address in Waterford on 3 July, where they allegedly seized several firearms, ammunition, clothing and other items.

On 3 August, after six weeks of what police called “intensive investigations”, detectives arrested a 23-year-old Bayside woman and a 31-year-old Bayside man at an address in Waterford.

Both were charged with two counts each of attempted murder and are due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 11 October.

Another man, a 32-year-old from Logan, was also charged with two counts of attempted murder on 4 August in relation to this incident.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 23 August.

Police say a local 28-year-old woman, who is already in custody for other matters, will also be charged with attempted murder in the “near future”.

Police have released footage in the hopes further witnesses will come forward.
