Firstly, I highly commend Philip Potter’s letter (MyCity Logan, November 22) regarding the completely ‘wacky energy’ plans currently proposed by the new Labor government.
In addition to the unexplained and under-estimated costs mentioned, we must also include professionally prepared costings and time scale for what is a completely new transmission cable network, as the present cables are not suited for the ‘dreamworld’ solar/wind equipment.
The most amazing example of economic stupidity is that we the taxpayers/voters of Australia are to be hit with a multi-billion dollar ‘bill’ for a complete fantasy to cover alleged ‘reparations’ to wealthy backroom strangers to ‘compensate the victims’ of an imaginary problem.
One sincerely hopes that the extortionate proposal will willingly be paid for by the Labor Party MP cohort, and not extorted from mums, dads and the elderly who are increasingly facing yet more energy costs.
