A 15-year-old boy has died after his motorcycle crashed into a tree at New Beith Sunday afternoon.
Police said the boy was the sole rider of a trail bike travelling east along New Beith Road when he “failed to negotiate a sweeping bend, leaving the road and crashing into a tree.”
Another rider, who was riding nearby, raised the alarm however, emergency services could not revive the 15-year-old.
Investigations suggest a utility was seen driving near or in-between the two dirt bikes prior to the incident.
