Green tail wagging Labor dog

THE new parliament is now in session and the token “green” tail is already wagging the Labor dog.

The loonies are in the asylum and the electorate will suffer the consequences unless the senate can intervene.

We are now proposing to match other countries’ delusional plan to reduce carbon emissions by 48% by 2030.

This ridiculous target would close down almost half of our fossil fuel power generated in eight years – to be replaced by what?

For thousands of years Earth’s vegetation has been absorbing volcanic carbon emissions for its own growth and releasing oxygen for all Earth’s creatures.

About 20 years ago, carbon dioxide was blamed by academic “scientists” as the cause of alleged global warming. But no evidence proving the theory has been produced. Even large population increases and massive growth in emissions from airline travel and vehicle usage, since then there has been no warning.

The theory is false, but schools are teaching that it is true.

Currently wind and solar power produces about 20% of our needs on a good day, but very little at night or on a day with cloud and low wind.

Even if costly, massive, renewable power could be built by 2030, it still could not match the 24/7 reliability of coal and gas.

Wind and solar power is also incapable of making glass, iron, aluminium and steel – the fundamentals of modern society.

If we had only renewable power, how would aircraft fly? And would there be ships or trains operating? What would power them?

Short-term batteries could not do the job.

The last European winter exposed the inherent weakness of wind and solar power in Britain.

Many days of low wind and heavy cloud required nuclear-powered electricity from France and a lot of wood burning to keep the lights on.

Are our politicians blind to world events? Our power industry has no back up source.

Renewable power is unreliable, expensive and unfit for purpose. Carbon is not a problem. Warming has never been proven.

Economic decisions must be based on facts – not unproven theory.

It is ironic that most “Green” and Labor MPs would have travelled to Canberra by plane, road or railway – all powered by fossil fuel. How “green” are they?

While western nations are intent on closing down coal power, China, with massive CO2 emissions, is building 183 new coal-fired power stations to expand their economy while we put ours at risk of total collapse.

We need a brain transplant in Canberra.
