THOSE towing trailers and caravans were the focus of a police operation in Logan last week.
Police conducted “Operation Ribbonwood”, geared to let those doing the towing of the importance to having correct tow weight.
During the campaign, Logan police partnered with road policing and regional support, along with Department of Main Roads and Logan City Council.
Drivers were intercepted and provided advice.
Police said tow weights can contribute to poor vehicle handling.
“Drivers not experienced in towing need to make sure they understand the general principles of driving with a trailer before attempting to tow in traffic or at highway speeds,” a statement said.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, but it starts with you.”
