Medicare service high on election agenda

The Australian Labor Party has promised an improved health service.

New clinics will be opened for urgent care patients, to save them going to busy emergency departments.

Meanwhile, the new health minister wanted to return to pre-Medicare times, when we either paid to see a private doctor, or lined up at a public hospital.

Fortunately, Labor did the hard yards to end that injustice and Medicare was a blessing to our family, when my baby son was sick.

I hope Mr Albanese wins , so that he can protect and extend our health system.

Otherwise, Medicare could become another of Mr Morrison’s broken promises.

Paul Wincen,
