Managing Director of Yarrabilba’s 5FOLD charity has been nominated for an award in this year’s City of Logan People’s Excellence Awards.
Held by Logan City Council, the awards shine a spotlight on a range of achievements and recognise local individuals, groups, clubs, and organisations whose contributions have shaped Logan’s identity, progress, and community spirit.
5FOLD’s Melinda Hartley was nominated by a community member under the Social Impact – Community Advocate category, which honours those who have positively influenced the wellbeing and social fabric of Logan.
Melinda Hartley says she is deeply honoured by the nomination.
“While my name has been put forward, this work has never been about me,” she said.
“Everything we do is about seeing individuals and families fulfil their maximum potential and know that they are not alone.”
“I am filled with gratitude and grateful to God for equipping and allowing me to play a small part in work that is carried by many; volunteers, partners, local businesses and everyday people who make a choice to show up for their community.”
5FOLD is a Yarrabilba based non-profit charity which provides the community with “five essential pillars that uphold stability and dignity for every person,” including clothes, food, shelter, support and training.
Mrs Hartley said, “community is knowing you are not alone.”
“My hope is that together, we can continue strengthening our city through genuine community care and compassion and I remain committed to serving with integrity, purpose and heart,” she said.
Winners across all categories will be announced in March during a formal event.
