The celebration of Springwood Mall’s recent $21 million redevelopment has left some Logan residents $6000 richer.
Last week’s celebration involved a range of events for the local community, including giveaways of a $6,000 diamond ring and a draw for a share of $10,000 in cash prizes.
Springwood Mall shop owner Andreas Efhtivoulou of Ridge Jewellers provided the ring for the competition.
It was won by local resident Lysa in a ‘Spin N Win’ competition.
She said she had “never won anything before.”
The winner of the major cash prize of $6000 was local Springwood resident Salma.
Salma, who was accompanied by her father, said she was “overwhelmed” with the unexpected win.
“I entered several times over the last few weeks. We are regular shoppers here and love the renovations that have been done.”
She has never been overseas and plans to use the money to travel to the UK to visit family members.
Other cash prizes of $2000, $1000 and two $500 cash prizes were also drawn, along with a kids’ cubby valued at $2000.
Springwood Mall marketing manager Donna O’Neill said the weekend of celebrations, entertainment and over $20,000 in giveaways and prizes was a huge success.
“We have been given great feedback about the centre’s new look, our new restaurants and cafes and how fresh and modern Springwood Mall now feels, which is fantastic,” Ms O’Neill said.
“All of the stores are now leased and the final fitouts are underway, so the centre’s redevelopment journey is now complete.”
