Logan skating rink Skate Paradise played host to the 2023 Inline Hockey National Championships from 23 -30 September, welcoming revellers from far and wide.
More than 500 skaters competed across twelve divisions in categories ranging from under 9 years old to over 50s, with a national title on offer for each age group.
Championship contenders had the chance to be selected for the 2024 Australian Representative Teams that participate in the World Championships.
Skate Paradise session supervisor Brad Worsman said the skill level of players across the tournament was “incredible”.
“These players are the national representatives for their state, so we are talking high level skill and extreme competitiveness,” Mr Worsman said.
“Holding the national titles in Logan was amazing for our club but was also great for tourism and the wider community as a whole.
“Each player came here with their family and friends as a support, so it’s been a real boost for Logan.”
The tournament gave Skate Paradise a chance to try out its brand new $13 million facility upgrade.
“We are now a licensed venue with a full bar running from 2pm to 10pm each day plus a diner with burgers and fried food,” Mr Worsman said.
“We welcome everyone in the community to come down and sample what we have on offer.
Skate Paradise is located at 34-38 Johnson Road Hillcrest.
