A walking soccer group have gone from “strength to strength” as some of Logan’s finest players represent the country.
The over 65s team, which recently moved homes to Meakin Park in Slacks Creek, was formed in 2022.
They call themselves the ‘Geri-Actives’ and have grown into a force to be reckoned with, amassing around 30 players.
In April, the team won a state competition and some of the players have since been asked to represent the country as part of the Australian Walkaroos in Sweden, Spain and Japan next year.
But first, the team is headed to the Gold Coast to compete in the Pan Pacific Masters Games this November.
Founder Keith Forrest said the team welcomed more talent, regardless of ability.
He said the team was also looking for sponsorship.
Join the team on Tuesdays from 8.30am.
