Vision from the boot of his car

This week’s front page highlights the story of a man who had vision.

He also had the courage to follow his passion, right from the times early in his working life – while still at school – when he sold clothing from the back of his car.

He expanded his networks, forged relationships with suppliers and systematically built the Urban Wear brand into a business that is already going global.

There would no doubt have been rejection and hiccups along the way.

All start-ups have challenges, but Tyrone Gode is an inspiration to others in Logan that anything is possible.

In Logan, we have some of the biggest businesses in Queensland.

Some of them started in the corner of a garage. Others were formed with a group of friends doing what they loved. Whether it be food or beer or steel or property, whatever the passion, they are the people who followed a dream.

Anybody harbouring a dream can look at people like Mr Gode and the way he has built his empire.

Logan is a land of opportunity, and there are plenty of people who’ve become successful from a foundation of very little.

All it takes – if Mr Gode is a good example – is a little conviction, some street smarts, and a lot of self-belief.
