A Slacks Creek man has been charged over a string of thefts – totalling more than $220,000 – throughout Logan and South Brisbane.

Police say the 21-year-old was allegedly linked to 14 property crime reports across the region, including the alleged theft of two cars.

“It will be alleged the man attended a home in Underwood on April 16 where he stole car keys and a Honda Accord,” police said in a statement.

“The man also allegedly attended a Lota home on April 17 where he stole car keys and a Volvo XC90.”

Police said officers executed a search warrant at Slacks Creek on Thursday 25 April, where they found “several alleged stolen property items and clothing”.

The next day, police arrested the 21-year-old Slacks Creek man at a Woodridge property.

 

 

The man was charged with eight counts of enter dwelling and commit, four counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent, and two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property.

Police said they have since found the two allegedly stolen cars.

The Honda Accord was found abandoned at a shopping centre carpark in Springwood and the Volvo XC90 along Broadmore Street in Kenmore Hills.

Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Anderson from Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch said information from the public assisted with investigations.

“We would like to thank members of the public who came forwarded and provided information anonymously through Crimestoppers,” he said.

“This information proved vital for the progression of our investigation, which remains ongoing.
