Video: Logan man and woman charged over Brisbane tobacconist fire

Two Logan residents have been charged over an alleged arson attack at an Acacia Ridge tobacconist last month.

A 33-year-old Logan Central man was charged on Monday (16 April) following a search warrant at a Woodridge property.

Police said they found the man in possession of “items used during the arson offence”.

The fire took place on 11 March at around 1.45am.

Emergency services were called to a structure fire at a tobacconist on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Beaudesert Road.

A 33-year-old Woodridge woman was charged on Friday 5 April following a search warrant at a Paterson Street, Woodridge property.

Police said they found a gun and two stolen Toyota Corolla hatchbacks – one was reported stolen from Windsor, and the other was a hire car that was never returned.

She was charged with arson, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of weapons and drugs, among other offences.

The Logan Central man has been charged with two counts of endangering a particular property by fire and one count of arson.
