Tree tribute for dementia

The Logan Dementia Choir’s annual tree planting remembrance ceremony will be held World Alzheimer’s Day on Saturday 21 September.

The choir will be joined by those with Alzheimer’s and dementia, as well their family and friends.

Norma Hambling from the Logan Dementia Alliance said the choir provided an opportunity to gather in the community and remember our special persons who had lived with or are living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

“And those who have or are caring for them,” she said.

The tree planting ceremony, which will include performances by the choir, will start at 10.30am at Logan Gardens.

Organisers suggested to enter the gardens off Wembley Road and park behind the Logan Entertainment Centre for easier walking access.

After the ceremony, attendees are invited to gather in the Logan Brothers Rugby League club for morning teas.

Guests are welcome to contribute a plate of finger food.
