Tree rejuvenation project

The Slacks Creek Catchment Group will hold a tree-planting event at Riverdale Park.

The group of volunteers is dedicated to restoring natural habitats along Slacks Creek and will be planting native trees and grasses along the creek to help create a vegetation buffer for mangroves and habitat for wildlife on 21 April.

Group member Anna Markula said all were welcome and to bring a hat, long pants, covered shoes, sunscreen, water, and gloves if you have them.

“We also have gloves to borrow,” she said.

“We will be providing a morning tea after the tree planting, let us know of any dietary requests when you RSVP.”

The group will meet at Riverdale Park, Meadowbrook.

“Park at the very end carpark and follow the footpath north along the river, cross over the wooden bridge and we will be up on the right,” Ms Markula said.

The event will run from 8-10am.

RSVP via The Slacks Creek Catchment Group Facebook page or email about.sccrg@outlook.com.
