A toddler is home and well after nearly drowning at Eagleby Aquatic Centre on 10 January.
A family member told MyCityLogan the young girl was being properly supervised and what happened was a “freak accident”.
“She didn’t wake up until this morning… but she’s ok now,” her grandmother said.
Ambulances were called to the public pool on Cowper Avenue at around 3.45pm after reports of a “post-immersion incident”, according to a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson.
The young girl was then rushed to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
This occurred just weeks after the centre was reopened following safety upgrades to the centre.
