Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders

While one chapter closes for the city’s Year 12 students this month, another exciting one is on the horizon for them.

The class of 2021, much like the class of 2020 has seen challenges unlike many others.

It goes without saying the global pandemic has created unprecedented times for these students.

So, while you’re filled with excitement about what’s ahead and the end of year celebrations, I encourage you all to take a minute and appreciate what you’ve done.

Although the past two-years will have been some of hardest for you all I hope that you can look back one day and recognise just what you’ve achieved.

Your future is bright and the challenges you’ve faced in the past two years will create a resilience and determination for you to become tomorrow’s leaders.

The path ahead is yours for the taking, it is yours to own, and the opportunities are endless – this is just the beginning.

To the wonderful teachers, parents, carers, families and friends who have supported, encouraged and nurtured you – well done. You have steadied the ship for these young minds while facing your own challenges so thank you.

To the graduating class of 2021 congratulations. Go forth, learn, grow, be inspired, and seek out experiences and opportunities.

Set big goals and work even harder to reach those goals.

I look forward to hearing about the successes of your next chapter and we’ll be able to proudly say it all started here in the City of Logan.
