Time to find a job – unemployment plummets by 25%

A recent economic analysis released by Logan City Council’s office of economic development indicates unemployment is down 25% to 6.5% across Logan.

The statistics, compiled for the 2021/22 financial year, revealed local jobs are up 5.79%, which equates to more than 120,000 positions across Logan – up from 113,000 to June 2021.

The report showed financial year 2021/22 saw the largest growth in local jobs in the last 25 years- well above the Queensland growth rate of 4.7%.

  • A salary packaged residential youth worker role – salary packaging.
  • Electrical and air conditioning tradesperson role – $80,000 – $100,000/year
  • Admission and student support officer role – $22-$25 per hour

The report revealed job growth industries across Logan include:

  • Accommodation and food services – 7,822 jobs
  • Professional and technical services – 5,245 jobs
  • Transport postal and warehousing – 6,734 jobs
  • Wholesale trade – 4,584 jobs.
