It has been an immense privilege to serve the people of Waterford, and I want to thank you for putting your trust in me again for another four years.
We have achieved so much together over the years with upgrades to all our local schools, expanding our roads and making them safer and the biggest ever expansion to Logan Hospital.
I’m looking forward to working with all of you to make our community an even better place to live and work.
It is that time of the year we will see our Grade 12 students graduating and either continuing on with studies or entering the workforce.
It’s an exciting time and I wish them all the very best for what lies ahead.
I recently had the privilege of attending the 50-year celebration of Mabel Park State School.
There were beautiful performances from our young students as well as lots of great stories from current and former staff, leaders and students.
I want to give a big shout out to Kirsten Madsen who has been a cleaner at the school for 48 years and still doing her best to keep the school looking great.
I also recently attended the graduation of young trainees at Impact Care Services who have just completed their Hospitality and Retail Traineeships through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program.
Programs like this make a big difference to help people who are struggling to find a job get the skills they need to enter the workforce.
It’s a wonderful legacy of the former Labor Government and I will always fight to make sure we continue to have great programs and opportunities like this in our community.
