A teenager was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning after reportedly shooting himself in the hand with a homemade gun the night before.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said a patient in his mid-teens “sustained an alleged gunshot wound to the hand at a private residence” in Slacks Creek.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson confirmed the wound was self-inflicted.
Media reports indicate the gun was homemade, and occured at a Lowanna Street property at around 9.30pm.
The teenager was then taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition the following morning.
