Symbolising a new generation of knowledge

SAN Damiano College at Yarrabilba was built around the life of St Frances of Assisi.

The buildings were designed in a configuration which resemble the Italian town where St Frances lived, and rooves tiled similar to those in the township.

The school’s four house groups are Greccio, La Vena, Perugia and Rieti, all of which symbolise some facet of St Frances’s life.

Those same colours are represented in the school’s crest.

And to add to the symbolism, the bridge at the bottom end of the school represents a safe journey from the outside world into a safe haven where learning and friendship are the core focus.
