A Logan man has “popped the champagne” after winning $1.2 million in the latest Saturday Gold Lotto.
“The adrenaline is just coursing through my veins,” the Springwood local said.
The man held one of the four division one winning entries in draw 4433 on Saturday 13 January.
Each of the four winners pocketed $1,260,010.08.
“My wife was doing some weeding in the garden and the expression on her face when she saw me barrelling towards her was pure shock,” the man said.
“I said, ‘give me a hug, I think I just won Saturday Gold Lotto’.”
“It’ll set us up for the rest of our lives and we’re so grateful.”
The lucky winner said he and his wife had “barely slept” since the draw.
“My weekend was turned on its head when I discovered this,” he said.
“We’ve popped the champagne and celebrated already, but I’m sure there’ll be more to come.”
The winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Arndale Shopping Centre.
The Arndale News team said they were over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry so early in the year and wished the winner all the best for the future.
