Springwood Mall car park gets started

About 5000 cubic metres of soil have been displaced to make way for a new undercover car park at Springwood Mall.

The latest milestone is part of a $16 million development.

Geon Property director Ben Griffin said customers would see and experience some interesting changes over the coming months, including the relocation of the taxi rank.

The taxi rank has already been moved to outside of the Ray White Springwood store at the eastern end of the
centre and will remain there until early 2022.

Earthworks have been visible in front of Woolworths for a few weeks as many new undercover car parks are created
for the centre.

Geon Property manages the centre on behalf of owners Chin Hong Investments Corporation Pty Ltd, and Mr Griffen said the centre would gain 94 car parks as a result of the redevelopment, with most of these located in the new undercroft
parking area.

“This will greatly improve the overall convenience of the centre for customers, but especially to help them access the expanded Woolworths from this additional undercover parking,” he said.

Woolworths continues to trade as normal during these changes, with customer car parking available in the undercroft car park directly underneath the store or in the car park outside of Target.

Additional preparation work for the new internal travelators is also underway. The travelators will provide access to
the centre from the expanded undercroft car park, providing greater weather-proofing and easier trolley-management for customers and retailers.

Mr Griffin said customers were excited about the changes and were looking forward to a refreshed centre.

“We have received some great feedback about the changes that are happening to Springwood Mall and we thank our customers for their ongoing patience and understanding while we evolve.”
