Construction is now complete on the South West Pipeline, a project that will supplement Beaudesert’s water supply with locally sourced water.
The state government said it was the biggest addition to the south-east Queensland water grid since 2012.
There is now 27-kilometres of pipeline travelling from Logan’s water supply, through Flagstone and to the Beaudesert Water Treatment Plant.
Final commissioning works, including the installation of the electrical and pump systems, are expected to be completed soon.
The Member for Logan, Linus Power, said the project was “a big construction effort” along the pipeline route.
“It is fantastic to see more than 100 jobs supported off the back of this project.”
Seqwater Interim CEO, Will Harpham said: “Seqwater is proud to be delivering the South West Pipeline project, bolstering water security and prosperity in Beaudesert and surrounding communities.
“Connecting Beaudesert to the SEQ Water Grid has been a key priority for Seqwater and we are focused on continuing to enhance water supply reliability in this growing region.
“Commissioning works including the installation of the electrical and pump systems are ongoing and expected to be completed soon.”
