The Logan region could be in for a mildly wet Christmas with a cloudy, showery day forecast for Friday.
Bureau of Meteorology forecasts show the la nina in full swing.
Tuesday will see possible showers, partly cloudy and balmy on Wednesday, before possible showers again on Thursday.
The detailed forecast was yet to be released for Friday, but forecasters were talking about a 50% chance of showers, albeit less than the 60% chance predicted a couple of days prior.
Forecasts are for a maximum of 26 degrees on Friday, again a little higher than what was being anticipated more than a week out.
Forecasters say there is a chance of thunderstorms amid the showers, and below average temperatures under cloudy skies.
Boxing Day would see partly cloudy skies and temperatures again up around the 30-degree mark.
Storms have been seeing some hail, so homeowners going away for Christmas are being urged to clean up their yards to minimise the risk of damage during storms.
