Valentine’s Day is a Sunday this year, and it has almost arrived.
It’s the international day of showing your love that you appreciate them.
Did you know that February 14 dates back more than 1500 years to the year 496 when the pope of the time, Gelasius I celebrated in honour of Saint Valentine of Rome.
People used to write notes, but now we buy cards and flowers. Easy, right?
Easy if you follow a few simple rules. I’ve donned my cupid hat to give you a hand:
Tip #1: FLOWERS
Either given on their own or combined with a special gift, flowers are always a good idea.
To get the best value ordering ahead is the key. The later you order the smaller your choices so aim to have them ordered at your favourite florist by mid-week.
Industry Tip: Don’t rely on an internet search, ensure you are dealing with the local actual florist shop as internet marketers have shopfronts online but no production facilities so they are just brokers taking commissions off the top and not adding value.
Tip#2: GIFTS
You don’t have to spend a fortune on gifts, it’s about the thought in the gift, not the gift value.
If your Valentine is true they will appreciate a thoughtful gift over a showy gift. Personalised gifts can either be store bought, branded or even hand made by you.
Use your imagination and have fun.
Tip #3 EXPERIENCES & MEALS
Like tips above, booking ahead is the key to getting what you want.
Think about the venue you are wanting to take your valentine.
The noise levels of the place you are considering, depending on what type of evening you are wanting to have.
It’s a Sunday this year so why not make it a weekend of Love and Book your dinner on a Saturday night with a picnic on Sunday?
Again, allow your imagination to create something special.
