After just one meeting at the beginning of this year – its inaugural meeting – Kingston Probus Club is again looking to get its new group off the ground.
The club is extending an invitation to all retirees in the area to be part of the club.
Leaders say the club will particularly appeal to those who have just shifted into the area, who would like to meet new friends, and who are looking for activities to do.
“We are a warm friendly club that established at the beginning of the year on March 3, 2020,” they said.
“But due to Covid-19 our new club was suspended after the first meeting. This was very disappointing but now we are in a position to be re-established to commence again on February 2.”
Probus is a non-profit organisation established specifically for retirees.
“Probus provides you with the opportunity to join a social club in your local Community to meet other retirees on a regular basis, listen to interesting speakers and join in fun activities,” president Marlene Sheedy said.
“We plan to have our one-year-old birthday celebration on the first meeting of the year on February 2. Please come and join us to meet our current members and share friendship, fellowship and fun.”Â
