LOGAN’S biggest celebration of seniors is returning this week with a “non-stop” program of fun.
The Logan Seniors Big Day Out will run from 9am to 3pm on Friday 3 October at the Logan Entertainment Centre.
It is a free annual event run to celebrate and connect the city’s seniors, through information, entertainment and more.
This year’s program features art workshops, massages, music bingo, exercise classes, a home-care-services presentation, exhibitor stalls, and live music.
The day will also include a ticketed musical tribute show, Wonder, playing some of the world’s greatest one-hit wonders like I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), Black Velvet, My Sharona, Spirit in the Sky, Me and Mrs Jones and Easy Lover.
These will be performed by The Little Red Company, starring country music performer Brooke Schubert (The Voice Australia) and theatre icon Marcus Corowa (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and The Sunshine Club).
Mayor Jon Raven said the popular community event celebrated and connected people with a bit more life experience and wisdom.
“This annual celebration brings seniors together for a day of entertainment and fun,” he said.
“We want to show everyone that Logan is a great place to live, especially for people who are over 55.
“I’d like to invite all Logan seniors to come along and enjoy a bunch of free activities like guided painting workshops and gentle fitness classes.
