Sandra Price: Building Bridges, Not Walls

Sandra Price, founder of Tradie Booking Solutions, is passionate about easing the financial burden for tradies while advocating for women in male-dominated industries. In this Q&A, she shares the women who inspire her, the importance of International Women’s Day, and her mission to create connections and break down barriers in the trade industry.

Which women inspire you the most?
Your everyday women – The ones running businesses, raising families, breaking barriers in male-dominated fields (like the trades), and just showing up every day with resilience.

Was there a defining moment when you knew this was the right direction for you? When I saw the difference, I made for each of my clients. Taking that stress away and allowing them to get back to spending time with their family.

Is there a woman in your life you admire or are inspired by? and why?
My Mum.  She ran a home, looked after 4 kids, did the farm books and was out in the paddock.

“I am excited to see more female led businesses and apprentices entering typically male dominated industries.”

What industry trends are you most excited about?
Seeing more female led businesses and apprentices entering typically male dominated industries.

What role does sustainability or social responsibility play in your business?
It plays a significant role in our practice.  We promote and implement going paperless in business operations not only to reduce waste but also streamline processes.  We support local charities and industry groups. Working with Trades we advocate for supporting Mental health and wellbeing by offering advice on cash flow, dealing with business and life pressures and reduce stress.

What’s your International Women’s Day message?
Women’s International day is about celebrating the women who are both seen and unseen to help lift those around them and pave the way for the next generation.

If your business or career were a story, what would the title of this chapter be and why?
If my business was a story, the title of this chapter would probably be “Building Bridges, Not Walls.” At this stage, the focus is on fostering connections—whether it’s connecting clients to the right bookkeeping solution, helping tradies understand their cash flow, or collaborating with other local businesses to create a strong, supportive community. It’s about breaking down the barriers that often exist between complex business systems and the people who need to navigate them.

What failure or setback are you most grateful for, and how did it shape who you are today?
All of them. I made the decision to take each and every one as an opportunity to learn and grow.

What’s a misconception about women in business that you wish would disappear?
It would be amazing if we could move past the assumption that women have to work harder to “prove” their worth and instead focus on their talents, skills, and the value they bring, just like anyone else. It’s about equality, respect, and recognizing that leadership doesn’t have one shape or form.
