Rosemarie Sio & Evie Kelly: A new genaration Breaking Barriers

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we had the opportunity to speak with Rosemarie, a passionate and determined young woman making strides in her field. She shares what this day means to her, how she uplifts those around her, and the inspiring figures who have shaped her journey. From the influence of her mother to the impact of role models like Taylor Swift, Rosemarie’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, confidence, and ambition

What does International Women’s Day mean to you as a young woman?
International Women’s Day makes me feel proud of myself, seeing how far women have come in this society.

How do you positively influence the women around you?
I positively influence the women around me by helping them feel good about themselves, especially the younger girls, to boost their confidence.

If you could train or work with any inspiring woman in the world, who would it be and why?
I want to work with the music artist Taylor Swift because she’s helped younger girls express themselves and realise who they want to be.

What inspired you to start training in this field/sport/profession?
What inspired me to do the traineeship was the opportunity to work in various departments.

Who are your biggest role models, and why?
My biggest role model is my mum because she has always taught me to never depend on anyone. Growing up, I watched her go through her toughest times alone. Seeing her become the best version of herself shows me how I can accomplish anything I want to do and who I want to become.

For Evie, International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of how far women have come and the achievements they continue to make. As a passionate young woman in the hospitality industry, she is committed to uplifting others, challenging norms, and striving for equality. Inspired by strong female role models like her mother and Kamala Harris, Evie is determined to make her mark, proving that young women are shaping the future in meaningful ways.

How do you positively influence the women around you?
By uplifting others and understanding the difficulty others may be going through.

If you could train or work with any inspiring woman in the world, who would it be and why?
Even after her recent election loss in the U.S., Kamala Harris would be my choice. She is so inspiring to be able to run in the election and try her absolute best to look after the people she is representing.

What inspired you to start training in this field/sport/profession?
To be able to achieve as much as other women who have worked hard to be where they are.

Who are your biggest role models, and why?
My mother has to be one of my biggest role models. Even after having four kids, she still proves every day that she is more than a mother and a wife—she is an independent, strong-willed woman.

How do you think young women are changing the future of your industry?
Young women are introducing change in the hospitality industry, proving they are as capable as men and creating a safer work environment for everyone.
