A man, 19, from Rochedale South has been charged following alleged car theft at Ipswich this week.
Police allege that around 8pm on 5 October, a man and woman stole a 2018 XV Subaru from an Eastern Heights address after entering the property and stealing a set of car keys.
The pair also allegedly stole two sets of number plates, two wallets and cash from other cars between 5 to 7 October, according to police.
“Around 2.30pm on 7 October, police located the stolen Subaru bearing stolen number plates on Hillier Street in Goodna,” police said in a statement.
“It is alleged when officers intercepted the vehicle the female driver attempted to start the vehicle and drive away before she was arrested and taken into custody.
“The male passenger was arrested and taken into custody a short time later after absconding from the scene on foot.”
The 19-year-old Logan local has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property and stealing, two counts of enter dwelling and commit and one count each of enter premises and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.
An 18-year-old Leichhardt woman has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of enter premises and commit and stealing and one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possess drug and obstruct police.
Both are expected to appear in Ipswich court today (9 October).
