Member for Macalister Melissa McMahon has released an election promise to deliver a 10-year masterplan for Beenleigh’s road network.
Roundabouts were at the centre of a $200,000 plan, including James St and City Road.
Ms McMahon said the plan would deliver a “Beenleigh better roads project” while minimising disruption for commuters.
She said road upgrades would be a boost for the whole region due to a future pipeline of work.
“The … government has already committed to $1.36 million over the next two years in upgrade planning for four problem intersections on the Beenleigh Connection roads as well as widening Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road, but we know all these roads are connected,” Ms McMahon said.
“The Beenleigh Better Roads project is a $200,000 commitment to bring all these planning projects together and map out a 10 year plan to prioritise these upgrades.
“This is important to minimise traffic chaos while work is underway on these major intersections.”
Transport Minister Mark Bailey said the government’s plan included investment of over $24 billion in roads and transport in Queensland.
