A rideshare driver was allegedly threatened with a knife during an attempted car theft at Slacks Creek on Tuesday afternoon.
Queensland Police said the driver had transported a passenger to a business on the Pacific Highway about 4.45pm on 14 July.
After the car stopped, police say the passenger produced a knife, threatened the driver and demanded the vehicle’s keys.
The driver moved away from the car while the teenager allegedly attempted to take it.
Police said the teenager was unable to start the vehicle and fled on foot.
The rideshare driver was not physically injured.
Officers later located and arrested a 17-year-old boy at a nearby Slacks Creek address.
The teenager was charged with one count of robbery while armed.
He was granted bail and was due to appear in Beenleigh Children’s Court on 27 July.
