Police seek information on vehicle in homicide investigation

Detectives are seeking public assistance as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of a 52-year-old man who was allegedly assaulted in Inala earlier this year.

Police allege the man was assaulted near Rudyard Street around 6.30pm on 5 January.

Several hours later, he arrived at Logan Hospital with significant head injuries.

He was later transferred to a specialist care facility but died from his injuries on 7 January.

As part of their investigation, Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch officers have released an image of a dark-coloured Audi believed to be in the Wacol area on 5 January.

“The vehicle has distinctive paint fade on its roof, and investigators are asking anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward,” a police statement said

A 32-year-old Griffin man was arrested on 16 January and charged with multiple offences, including murder, armed robbery, grievous bodily harm, kidnapping, and torture.

A 31-year-old Birkdale man was charged on 10 January with similar offences.

Police allege all individuals involved were known to each other.

Investigations are ongoing.
