Police overwhelmed by support

Springwood Police have been overwhelmed by public support following the tragic death of two officers earlier this month.

At a routine Mobile Police Beat to the Rochedale Shopping Village last week, police looked to engage with the community and hear about their problems.

“What we heard was messages of sympathy and support for the families of Constables Matthew Arnold and Rachel McCrow, Randall Kirk and Keely Brough, and for the wider police community,” they said.

Senior Constables Tom Lyons and Anthony Say collected donations for the remembrance fund and were astonished to see that nearly $2400 had been donated.

“This money has been banked and will be used to support the families of Matthew and Rachel,” police said.

“Kidzco Early Learning Springwood surprised us with a visit and presented a hand-made card signed by the kids.”

Senior Constable Lyons said, “that’s going straight to the pool room.”
