Police investigate possible linked break-ins

Detectives are investigating whether three early-morning break-ins at businesses across the city were carried out by the same group.

Queensland Police said offenders forced their way into a supermarket on Emerald Drive at Regents Park about 4am on Friday 17 July by damaging a roller door.

Once inside, the offenders allegedly damaged a cabinet and stole money before leaving in a red utility.

About 25 minutes later, police say four males smashed a glass door and entered a tobacconist on Ascot Drive at Loganholme.

The group allegedly stole a quantity of items before also leaving in a red utility.

A second tobacconist, on River Hills Road at Eagleby, was broken into about 4.40am.

Police responded to the Eagleby incident, but the vehicle had left before officers arrived.

It was last seen travelling along Drews Road towards the Pacific Motorway.

Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch are examining whether the three break-ins are linked.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity near the businesses, or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from Regents Park, Loganholme or Eagleby, has been urged to contact police.
