Police investigate, pedestrian in hospital after Waterford West crash

Police are investigating a “serious” crash at Waterford West on Thursday (20 November) night that left a pedestrian in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Chambers Flat Road at the intersection with Bourke Street at about 8.20pm, following reports a white Holden Colorado ute hit a pedestrian.

The driver of the Holden, a 25-year-old Redland Bay man, left the scene before police arrived, according to a Queensland Police Service statement, but later returned to the scene and is now helping police with inquiries.

The pedestrian, a 29-year-old Loganlea man, was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

“Officers are appealing to anyone with information or relevant footage to contact police,” the police statement read.
