Hi Logan, I’m writing to you this week from a prawn‑induced coma.
It’s a natural consequence of joining with a bunch of Logan business owners who refuse to do anything by halves.
Logan’s annual Prawn Day, hosted by the Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce, descended on the Distillery Road Markets on Friday.
If you haven’t heard of Prawn Day before, all you need to know is that it’s the best business networking event in Queensland – and it’s finally back in Logan!
This year marked its first trip to the Distillery Road Markets: a big, modern venue right beside the M1, and it’s quickly becoming one of our city’s biggest drawcards.
It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for an event that has spent three decades serving up smiles over seafood.
Once again, a catch of incredible Gold Coast Tiger Prawns were the guests of honour.
But after the great chats I had on Friday, I’m convinced even the prawns will start telling people they’re from Logan.
Anyone smart enough to invest in Logan, work in Logan, or employ people from Logan deserves all the praise we can give them.
A public holiday to celebrate our city wouldn’t be out of place, but I’ll settle for Prawn Day for now.
I’m feeling very well fed, not only with prawns, but with an enormous sense of gratitude.
Logan has a bright future because of the innovators, the risk‑takers and our amazing business community who continue to brave the unknown and back local talent.
As always, Logan’s strength lies in its people.
When this community comes together, good things happen and even better things follow.
I’m ready for the next course.
