Update: Driver of ute which hit a woman on the M1 yesterday was 18-years-old

The driver of a ute which hit a woman on the M1 yesterday was 18-years-old.

The woman, who was returning to her car after exchanging insurance details, died at the scene.

The 18-year-old man, of Boronia Heights, is helping police.

Queensland Police said the crash happened about 3.40pm on Monday, 18 May, after the women and another driver pulled over on the northbound lanes before Exit 30 to exchange details following a minor collision.

The woman, 32, from Parkinson, had been driving a white Audi A1, was returning to her car when she was struck by a beige Holden Rodeo utility on the Pacific Motorway at Loganholme.

She suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the Holden Rodeo, an 18-year-old Boronia Heights man, is helping police with their investigation.

The motorway was closed for several hours while police examined the scene and reopened just after 8.30pm.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
