Wait times at Logan Hospital reportedly reached up to five hours today due to a state-wide computer outage.
The outage is now over, but for 8.5 hours staff at 23 Queensland hospitals relied on pen-and-paper recordings because the hospitals’ electronic medical record system malfunctioned.
Healthcare workers discovered they were unable to log-in to the record sytem at around 8am this morning.
The issue persisted until 5pm.
Queensland Health said in a statement it was “not aware of any direct patient safety impacts as a result”.
“A post-incident review analysis to understand the cause of the issue, and steps to prevent it occurring again in the future, will take place over coming days,” the statement read.
