Council has spent years investing in venues like the Kingston Butter Factory and building a calendar packed with culture and fun.
The recent Flame BBQ and Music Festival at Jimboomba is a great example, with about 6500 people enjoying the fantastic day out.
As a city, we’ve become pretty good at putting on local and community events.
But why stop there? As we shape Logan’s future event strategy, we’re asking ourselves a simple question: what’s next?
We want to attract more major events to Logan and give people more reasons to visit our city.
Council is investing $6.6 million over five years to attract more major events and visitors to our city.
We already do music, food and cultural events incredibly well. Now we want to build on that by growing our presence in sport, business and technology.
Did you know we’re hosting the Australasian Futsal Championships at the Mount Warren Sports and Fitness Centre in October?
If we look to the future, we’re thinking big, really big!
Why couldn’t Logan host something as exciting as a V8 Supercar race Or Australia’s biggest cultural celebration?
Maybe the next great Logan event hasn’t even been thought of yet.
Why not host international drone racing or a massive gaming convention in Logan? Or create a world-first event that puts Logan on the map?
Everything is on the table. So, what major event would you like to see in Logan?
We want city-shaping ideas that build on our greatest assets and add to what we don’t already have.
We’re no longer thinking about what’s possible today. We’re planning for what Logan could be known for in 10, 20 or 50 years’ time.
When you host big events you bring people to city to spend their hard earned money with our great local businesses.
Every major event helps build our reputation and gives people another reason to visit.
Those of us who live here already know that Logan is amazing. We know we have incredible diversity, great facilities, beautiful natural areas and a strong sense of community.
It’s time more people discovered that too.
