Newlyweds build their future at New Beith

A year after their wedding, Aimee and Marcus Cocis are planning a new beginning in Logan: a home they can build together and enjoy for years to come.

The newlyweds, aged 22 and 20, have bought land at Round Mountain at New Beith for their first home.

“Since getting married in September last year, finding our first property has been a priority,” Aimee said.

“An established home or land were both options, but building something from scratch really appealed to us over renovating.”

For the couple, the appeal went beyond what they could put on the block.

“The peace and quiet, along with the overall feel of the area, made it an easy choice,” Aimee said.

“Our plan is to build a family-friendly, modern minimalist home that embraces the natural surroundings, with light-filled spaces within a vibrant, well-connected community.”

Their hopes reflect an ambition that remains strong across the country – owning a home.

Developer Frasers Property says more than half Round Mountain’s early purchasers are first home buyers, with construction at the planned 2100-home community expected to begin later this year.

Frasers Queensland development general manager Scott Ullman said the early response included buyers already living in Logan and surrounding suburbs.

“Since launching Round Mountain we’ve seen a really strong response from first home buyers, reflecting the appeal of building a new family home at this well-located, nature-focused community,” Mr Ullman said.

Aimee and Marcus bought during the launch weekend and are already looking forward to the life they hope to create there.

“Living so close to nature is something we’re really looking forward to, especially being able to walk and hike up the mountain,” Aimee said.

“Ideally, it’s somewhere we’ll stay for quite some time.”
