Once the site of a used car yard, 200 Kingston Road is getting a facelift and is expected to be turned into a retail and commercial destination.
The site is set on the corner of Slacks Creek industrial precinct.
Its marketing team says they’ve already secured a United Petrol Fuel Station, Slim’s Quality Burger Drive Thru– the first in Queensland – and a 1113 square meter office space.
They’re expecting to announce other retail and food outlets soon.
Agency HQ state director Paul Flego said the concept is to provide something that’s diverse and affordable to the public.
“It will basically be a one stop shop so you can turn up, fill your car up with fuel, grab a Slim’s Burger, pay 20 bucks or whatever it costs, and then go across and get some sushi or get some Chinese or Italian and the way you go.”
Mr Flego said available tenancies would suit cafe, specialty retail, hair and beauty services, medical and allied health providers and commercial office spaces.
“It’s a great little design,” he said.
“For example, a two-man barber shop or a pizza maker who just wants to do takeaway– he doesn’t have to have this big retail space, he can have a smaller space that is more compact, with smaller overheads, and can therefore make more money.
“They’re not paying big rent, they’re paying small rent but they could run their own business.”
Mr Flego said there’s no new development of this nature occurring in Slacks Creek.
“It’s a great development, especially for Slacks Creek because it is a very old traditional, set in its ways type suburb.
“It’s something new, something shiny.”
The development which has commenced construction is expected to be completed midway through 2023.
