That’s why, following the hugely popular cashback for energy efficient appliances program in 2023, I’m announcing a new cashback program of up to $4000 on home solar batteries!
Last year our community got involved with my Household Energy Survey.
The results showed that locals wanted help to get a household battery.
That will now be delivered through the Battery Booster program.
This means thousands of eligible households across Logan can cut their bills even further!
And in just the same way we’ve targeted tax cuts to ordinary homes that really need it, this program is for ordinary working families – households like the one I grew up in, and most people in our community
live in.
With about 150 rooftop solar installations every day, we have the highest uptake rooftop in the nation.
It’s clear locals are keen to embrace renewable energy, because it’s good for the back pocket, and
planet.
The Battery Booster program offers rebates of up to $4000 to eligible households looking to install a solar battery system of 6 kilowatt hours (kWh) or more.
A home battery soaks up cheap renewable energy during the day for use in the evening, helping to slash your power bills.
Plus it means our local battery manufacturing industry has the confidence to scale up.
That means making more things here.
We’ve also thought carefully about ensuring this program is safe, with approved products and installer list, plus an inspection regime, to ensure a quality program.
