Logan reached a high of 37.4°C last week – the highest temperature this year – during a heatwave that rocked the state’s south-east.
It was thought the high temperatures would overwork the energy system, with residents predicted to spend more time indoors with air-conditioning.
But the Minister for Energy and Springwood MP Mick de Brenni said the state’s energy system was “holding up well” and would meet demand.
The lowest temperature recorded in Logan this month, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, was 21°C.
