Thanks to our SES

On behalf of our community, thank you to everyone who helped get us all through the devastating
floods over recent months.

The response and recovery effort was massive.

Everyone from our local police, paramedics, swift water rescue crews, Energex and the incredibly
dedicated volunteers with our local SES.

And of course, thanks to all those ordinary members of our community, who saddled up and did
extraordinary things.

Then there are the women and men of Operation Energise (a team made up of electricians from
Queensland’s publicly owned power companies and the Electrical Trades Union) who had boots on the ground all around Queensland to restore power to a massive 180,000 flood-affected homes and businesses within days.

Inspired by the efforts of the local SES, the Springwood Youth Advisory Committee and the Lions
Club of Rochedale/Springwood are coming together to show their appreciation to the local SES for their hard work and dedication.

The Lions and our local young leaders have established a fundraiser to get the local SES depot much needed ventilation in their Daisy Hill operations shed.

We all know how hot and humid it gets when disaster strikes, so as a community we’ll respond to that, for them.

Let’s all get behind our local heroes and show how much they mean to us by supporting this community campaign!
